When the Maui, Hawaii Police Department needed a new Mobile Command Unit, they knew to call SVI Trucks. Their new strong-bodied aluminum apparatus sits on a Spartan Diamond Evolution ELFD chassis and houses a Caterpillar C9 400-horsepower engine. The new Maui Police Department Mobile Command Unit features a Telex radio interoperability IT system with two dispatch stations with network recorders, a Bosch Dibos DVR system with the capability to record up to 30 videos and 10 audio recordings simultaneously, two computers to run CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) software, an AVL Technologies Internet dish, and much more.
