Durham (NC) Fire Department Walk-In Heavy Rescue #1255
When spec’ing its new Heavy Rescue, the City of Durham, NC Fire Department chose a 26′ aluminum SVI body mounted on a Sutphen 56″ 2-door chassis, which houses a X12 455 HP Cummins engine. This custom apparatus features a walk-in body with interior desks, storage compartments and squad bench seat. A FRC InView 360º AVM 10″ in-cab video monitor provides exterior views for the back crew. The roof hatch/skylight allows for access to a roof-top inflatable raft, complete with transfer rollers and tie downs. The truck is also equipped with an Onan Protec 20K-watt PTO generator, Command Light CL Series light tower, Revolv-A-Tool Rescue Tool Storage Bracket and OnScene Solutions heavy-duty cargo slides.
